He is, he is not...

There is one new Aussie man in our office, and all of my colleagues are very eager to know his sexual orientation... whether he likes woman or he prefer to be with man.

I know, we're not supposed to act like that but we can't help it as we spotted some of evidences:
1) He's too decent for Aussie, sorry Aussie folk but it's true.. My colleague who studied in Melbourne thought the same way. I've met Sam's mates and my previous boss was Aussie too, and they all look... Aussie :))

2) The office manager found big sophisticated hair dryer at his place. Note, he has short hair, not long nor curly. Why would he need that kind of hair dryer to set his hair?

3) He likes to wear pink shirt. Asked some of Sam's male friends last night about pink shirt, and they said they wouldn't wear pink shirt, but then again they are working in government section not in advertising. Coz I know that some of my male's colleague from the previous office wore pink T-shirt and shirt. So, maybe this pink thing is not valid since we're working in creative area.

4) My MD told me yesterday that on the lunch meeting he saw his body language like gay one, the hands movement when he appoints at something.

But he also made statement at one point that back home he and his (ex) girlfriend usually cook by them selves as they don't have maid.

And Sam & I was thinking maybe he's just metro-sexual kind of guy: neat, really pay attention to his appearance and made efforts to look good.

Anyhow, since we're going to take him out next weekend maybe we could observe more about him, if his eyes are glittering when he sees beautiful women around then he's definitely straight but..... if his eyes are glooming like a bulb around Sam & Will then I should be careful that he might steal my boyfriend :))

Is it polite to ask one's sexual orientation?

Will one be offended with that question?

Or I should just leave it, as it's not my business?

Top 10 most controversial ads

AD BREAKDOWN
The Magazine's review of advertising

A record number of adverts were complained about in 2006, the Advertising Standards Authority has said. The subjects which annoyed people, including the portrayal of same-sex kisses, religion and knives, reveals something of modern day concerns.

Advertising complaints can be an interesting barometer of public sensibilities. In the 1970s, an ASA report from the time said, it was "sex depravity, pornography and general sleaziness" which offended. Nowadays, even with advertising which is often far more explicit than 1970s standards, the range of subjects which offends people has changed somewhat.

Here are the top 10 adverts of 2006 by volume of complaints and the ASA's decision on them.

1. GAY POLICE ASSOCIATION - 553 COMPLAINTS

This advert was the most complained about in 2006. It was a national press ad which pictured a Bible and a claim from the Gay Police Association of a link between homophobic attacks and religious motivation. Several Christian groups complained about the advert, saying it was offensive to them and discriminatory in tone.

The ASA upheld the complaints, saying that it was indeed offensive, was misleading in its suggestion that all incidents involved physical injury and in statistical claims which were never proved to the ASA.

The most complained about advert in 2005 was by KFC and featured people in a call centre singing with their mouths full. It received more than three times as many complaints.

Complaints upheld

2.HM REVENUE AND CUSTOMS - 271 COMPLAINTS

This was also a press advert, and depicted what seemed to be a self-employed plumber evading tax by hiding under the kitchen sink. This offended manyself-employed people and plumbers in particular who said theadvert made them look like tax evaders.

A spokesman for the Federation of Small Businesses said the advert "tars all of the UK's 2.72 million self-employed people with the same brush". HM Revenue and Customs apologised and amended the advert after the complaints, but the ASA concluded that most people would not actually have drawn the unfair conclusion about the self-employed.

Complaints not upheld

3. DOLCE & GABBANA - 166 COMPLAINTS

If it was depravity that offended in the 1970s, one new concern from 2006 was the glamorisation of knives. This D&G advert, which again appeared in the press rather than on television, appeared opposite a news article about a knife crime.

D&G protested at the complaints, saying that the ads were "highly stylised" and inspired by well-known Napoleonic paintings. But the ASA held them to be "socially irresponsible and offensive".

Complaints upheld

4. MOTOROLA - 160 COMPLAINTS

This is more of the same theme - and another appearance for D&G whose joint advert with Motorola, complainants said, "condoned knife-related violence" and "glamorised sexual violence". Motorola's defence was that it was highly stylised and clearly a pun on the tagline 'The cutting edge of technology', and that it did not glamorise violence. In this case the ASA agreed, saying that most newspaper readers would appreciate the ad's intention.

Complaints not upheld

5. CARPHONE WAREHOUSE - 145 COMPLAINTS

The familiar Carphone Warehouse adverts riled customers and competitors, particularly claims that its service would be "free forever". The ASA agreed that the advert was misleading and that "the availability of the service was insufficiently explained".

Complaints upheld

6. FRENCH CONNECTION - 127 COMPLAINTS

French Connection - a company which thanks to its FCUK slogan has had its run-ins with watchdogs before - ran a TV advert in which two women had a martial-arts contest, culminating in a kiss. The idea apparently was to "symbolise the competition between fashion and style". The ASA decided that despite the complaints of violence, it was clear that the fight was highly stylised and did not reflect criminal assault. The kiss was also fine, they said, and in any case the advert was being shown after the watershed.

Complaints not justified

7. CHANNEL 5 - 99 COMPLAINTS

Five ran a teaser poster campaign saying that "nothing good ever came out of America". The conclusion of the campaign was to highlight American films and TV programmes, but some people complained that the teaser was racist towards Americans and socially irresponsible in that it could incite racial violence. The ASA disagreed. (Channel 5 also appeared in last year's top 10, for a fake dossier advertising CSI:NY which was sent through the post purporting to claim there was a serial killer on the loose.)

Complaints not upheld

8. KELLOGG'S - 96 COMPLAINTS

Objections to a Kellogg's television ad featuring a man riding a dog (to get home in time to eat Crunchy Nut) claimed that it portrayed cruelty to animals and would encourage viewers to try the same stunt at home. Kellogg's responded that the ad was clearly surreal in nature, no dog was actually ridden during filming and that the advert wasn't being shown before the watershed, so children would not copy it. Viewers were also warned not to try it at home.

Complaints not upheld

9. NATIONAL FEDERATION OF CYPRIOTS - 93 COMPLAINTS

This was an advertising feature in the regional press. It drew complaints from a human rights organisation which was concerned it was offensive to the Turkish community and likely to incite racial hatred. Complaints were not upheld, except for a challenge that it was not sufficiently clear that it was advertising material.

Complaints upheld

10. DOLCE & GABBANA - 89 COMPLAINTS

Something of a theme emerges here - with D&G and the politics of same-sex relations appearing three times each in the top 10. D&G's TV ad showed a brief kiss between two men, and was followed by complaints that it was unsuitable for children to see, and some that it was unsuitable to show at any time. The regulators decided that to be appropriate it was only necessary that the advert not be shown around programmed aimed specifically at children.

Complaints not upheld

Don't know what to do

I know I should be professional, but with this particular person, I can't do it.

Everything this person does annoyed me, this person is the one who should sell the creative works to client but this person couldn't do it. So we have to cover this person in front of client.

We were in the same meeting, but our output can be different. Sometimes I wanna yell at this person "what the hell were you doing in there, don't you listen to what the client said, that's not what they mean?!" Geez....

I briefed A, but this person came up with Z... oh dear....

I briefed B, this person brief the team M... sigh...

I say, "the product rationale is...... so you have to think based on that" and that person reply to me say "but i don't know how....". That's why we need your expertise as creative to find a way on how to say it, if you ask me how to do that then I will be the copy writer not client service... arrghhhh....

I don't know what to do, we've talked about client's expectation but that person thought the other way around. Or maybe we just have to say it bluntly in front of this person's face that client doesn't want this person.

Really annoyed me when this person plays stubborn with me, don't play stubborn with me unless you're using your brain or at least you have brain.

Uhm... Sound like I'm being a bitch here, but I really can't stand to deal with this person in daily basis.

One of the reasons of my former boss left was because she can't deal with this person anymore, not good for our mental health.

I know it's not healthy anymore if you have personal problem with colleague. I don't want it either, but I can't help it.

What should I do about this person?

I really don't know.

Taxi TV

Took a taxi after work last night, this was not the usual taxi I & my company use.

This taxi pretty new in town, they currently only have 50 cars to cover Jakarta area. How do I know this? Because I asked the taxi driver, I asked many questions last night :))

The best thing with this taxi is the Satellite TV!

Oh yeah... They have satellite TV in every car, not only local channel but they also have cable channels. How cool is that? It's pretty damn cool for a taxi.

So for the first time during this rainy season (traffic jam in rainy season is the worst) I don't feel irritated stuck in traffic jam, because I still can enjoy American Idol while stuck in the traffic jam.

I think all taxi companies should provide satellite TV in each of their car. I bet Jakartans will be very happy because we have something else to distract from the traffic jam. Traffic jam in Jakarta could happen for hours and hours and hours *sigh*

For a little information, I heart Simon Cowel. Since the first time I lay my eyes on him, meaning American Idol season 2 because we in Indonesia missed the first season.

The Differences

I learn something new everyday, particularly the Australians culture. Not something big though but kinda noticeable (for me).

Birthday Party

Indonesian way, the birthday person usually treats her/his closest friends and all expenses will be paid by the birthday person. And the best part is the birthday person will get present/s from her/his friends.

Aussie way, the bill will be divided to the number of people there but exclude the birthday person so everybody will pay the same amount. The birthday person won't have to pay for all expenses, instead friends will pay for the birthday person, uhm... it's cool isn't it?
But the birthday person won't get any present either.

If I have to choose I will choose to get birthday present though, cos it's always excite me to open presents and see what's inside the box. Considering my friends had so much effort to find the (right) present for me.

Farawell Party

Indonesian way, again the one who's leaving usually pay for the expenses, and invite people to come. Or if s/he is from top level management the office will pay for the expenses ;)

Aussie way, someone else will throw farewell party for one who's leaving. Experienced it on last Friday when one of Sam's colleague is going back home shortly, the other colleague held the farewell party. Other farewell party will be this Thursday night and it's strictly for boys only cos they want to play pool, drink beer and etc.

I don't know whether the Americans or British or Scottish or Dutch has other way to celebrate those two occasions, please do share if you know something about it.

My dreams

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

I have dreams that one day when I retire I want to have these two things:

First is Flower plantation

I love seeing blossom flowers, colorful and smell nice. Although, I have no clue about the flower's type and name. Yeah I suck...

There is 1 particular house in Puncak (mountain area with full of tea plantations and 2 hours drive from Jakarta) area down to Cianjur that I love so much. It's like farmer house surrounded by flowers and small pond. It's beautiful. Every time pass that street I will look out through the car window and admiring it.

So I would be very happy if one day I can have flowers plantation around my house. Yeah dream on... I must be very rich to own one.

The second thing is Bakery Shop

Not a fancy and big bakery shop, just small and cozy one but provides damn good breads & pastries. I love the smell of fresh bread. So I imagine to wake up every morning with the smell of fresh bread in the house... Feel hungry now just imagining it.

But since I am not the expert on baking things or making bread & pastry, so I will let the expert to do the dirty job and I will just enjoy the fresh bread's smell every morning.

Surely need lots of money to bring to life my dreams.

So anyone wants to be the investor? Just drop me a line :)

Bedtime Snacks that Help You Sleep

Monday, February 18, 2008

One of the best natural sedatives is tryptophan, an amino acid component of many plant and animal proteins.

Tryptophan is one of the ingredients necessary for the body to make serotonin, the neurotransmitter best known for creating feelings of calm, and for making you sleepy.

However, the trick is to combine foods that have some tryptophan with ample carbohydrate. That’s because in order for insomnia-busting tryptophan to work, it has to make its way to the brain.

Unfortunately, all amino acids compete for transport to the brain. When you add carbs, they cause the release of insulin, which takes the competing amino acids and incorporates them into muscle…but leaves tryptophan alone, so it can make its way to the brain, be converted to serotonin, and cause sleepiness.

Serotonin-producing bedtime snacks should be no more than 200 calories and should be eaten at least 30 minutes prior to bed.

Here are a few great ideas:

Bedtime Snacks for Adults

- 6-8 oz container of non-fat, flavored yogurt topped with 2 tablespoons low-fat granola cereal
- Sliced apple with 1-2 teaspoons natural peanut butter
- 3 cups low-fat popcorn – sprinkled with optional 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese

Bedtime Snacks for Teens

- One cup healthy cereal with skim milk
- Low-fat granola bar
- Scoop of vanilla or strawberry low-fat ice cream

Bedtime Snacks for Children

- 1/2 cup low-fat vanilla pudding
- 1/2 banana with 1-2 teaspoons peanut butter
- One cup skim milk with a bunch of grapes (or other fruit)

Could you please pass me the popcorn please... I feel like snacking now... yum yum

If you HAVE TO (I mean really HAVE TO choose, no option of NONE or whatsoever)

Which one do you prefer, your spouse cheated with opposite sex or same sex as his/hers?

Btw, it's not about me. Basic thinking of above question was based on my gay friend's experience, as he told me once that he's being approached by married man (with children).

So this married man has double lifes, just like one of Oprah episode which talking about the book called Down Low.

5 Foods for Healthier Skin

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Combination of being lazy to post and caught up with works made me want to share what I found when I surf the net.

I guess this tips would be useful for the upcoming Valentine's Day ;)

You can invest half your paycheck in serums and creams - even splurge on dermal fillers and pricey facials - but none of it will get you far without a skin-friendly diet.

Of course, your skin (and the rest of you, for that matter) is best served by a well-rounded diet, including healthy fats, sufficient protein, and lots of fruits and vegetables. But there are a few nutritional standouts that make particularly important contributions to strong, glowing skin:

1. Fish: Fatty fish like salmon, tilapia, and cod are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. And that's a good thing, because our bodies cannot produce those essential lipids naturally. By adding omega-3s to your diet, though, you can bolster your skin barrier - that is, the layer of lipids that holds onto moisture and keeps irritants out.

There is even evidence that the skin-strengthening effects of omega-3s can improve chronic skin conditions like rosacea and atopic dermatitis, but more research is necessary to confirm that link.

Furthermore, many types of fish (like, once again, salmon and cod) are rich in vitamin D - as dermatologists increasingly emphasize sun avoidance, we also need to emphasize the importance of finding other sources of this vitamin, which is produced during sun exposure.

Don't eat fish? Many eggs are now fortified with omega-3 fatty acids, and plant sources include flax seed and flax seed oil, walnuts, pecans, and hazelnuts. And a daily vitamin D supplement is a good idea for vegans and meat-eaters alike.

2. Green Tea: It's inexpensive, easy to add to your routine, and one of the best-researched and most powerful antioxidants around. That's why green tea is my go-to antioxidant: I drink at least three cups a day to fight aging and inflammation. Some studies even suggest that the antioxidants in green tea reduce one's risk of skin cancer. So put down that soda and start drinking your way to healthier skin!

3. Broccoli: Rich in vitamins A, C, and K (among many other nutrients), this veggie does more than its fair share of nutritional work. Vitamin A decreases oil production, vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, and vitamin K can help prevent bruises. So whatever ails you, this green wonderfood might be just what the doctor ordered.

4. Safflower or Sunflower Oil: Omega-3s get a lot more talk, but omega-6 fatty acids - like the linoleic acid in these two oils - are also important for healthy skin. Like omega-3s, they help prevent dry skin and inflammation; they're also essential for the formation of prostaglandins, hormones that keep all the cells of the body functioning well.

While many diets are actually quite high in omega-6s - sometimes even too high - the key is to get the good ones and not unhealthy versions, like hydrogenated oils. So try sautéing your salmon or broccoli in a little safflower or sunflower oil and double those skin-soothing benefits!

5. Almonds: When it comes to boosting skin's defenses against aging, inflammation, and even skin cancer, antioxidants are so important that I'm going to add another to my list: A handful of almonds every day boosts your levels of vitamin E, one of the most important antioxidants for skin health. Studies also suggest that consuming vitamin E orally can increase the levels of this moisturizing vitamin on your skin's surface - great news for anyone prone to dry skin.

Wishing you great skin (and bon appetit)!

So there, I confess the picture taken by him (but I initiate it and ask him to take picture as his camera is way cooler that mine) :D

Movie Ratings

Sunday, February 10, 2008

What is the purpose of movie ratings?

I believe the purpose is to filter the audiences. Correct me if I'm wrong.

What criteria do they use to make the ratings?

The rating board uses the criteria you as a parent use when deciding what is suitable viewing for your child. Theme, language, violence, nudity, sex and drug use are among those content areas considered in the decision-making process. Also assessed is how each of these elements is employed in the context of each individual film. The rating board places no special emphasis on any of these elements; all are considered and examined before a rating is given.

What do the ratings symbols mean:

G:"General Audiences-All Ages Admitted."
This is a film which contains nothing in theme, language, nudity and sex, violence, etc. which would, in the view of the Rating Board, be offensive to parents whose younger children view the film. The G rating is not a "certificate of approval," nor does it signify a children's film. Some snippets of language may go beyond polite conversation but they are common everyday expressions. No stronger words are present in G-rated films. The violence is at a minimum. Nudity and sex scenes are not present; nor is there any drug use content.

PG:"Parental Guidance Suggested. Some Material May Not Be Suitable For Children."
This is a film which clearly needs to be examined or inquired into by parents before they let their children attend. The label PG plainly states that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children, but the parent must make the decision. Parents are warned against sending their children, unseen and without inquiry, to PG-rated movies. The theme of a PG-rated film may itself call for parental guidance. There may be some profanity in these films. There may be some violence or brief nudity. But these elements are not deemed so intense as to require that parents be strongly cautioned beyond the suggestion of parental guidance. There is no drug use content in a PG-rated film. The PG rating, suggesting parental guidance, is thus an alert for examination of a film by parents before deciding on its viewing by their children. Obviously such a line is difficult to draw. In our pluralistic society it is not easy to make judgments without incurring some disagreement. So long as parents know they must exercise parental responsibility, the rating serves as a meaningful guide and as a warning.

PG-13:"Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13."
PG-13 is thus a sterner warning to parents to determine for themselves the attendance in particular of their younger children as they might consider some material not suited for them. Parents, by the rating, are alerted to be very careful about the attendance of their under-teenage children. A PG-13 film is one which, in the view of the Rating Board, leaps beyond the boundaries of the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, or other contents, but does not quite fit within the restricted R category. Any drug use content will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. In effect, the PG-13 cautions parents with more stringency than usual to give special attention to this film before they allow their 12-year olds and younger to attend. If nudity is sexually oriented, the film will generally not be found in the PG-13 category. If violence is too rough or persistent, the film goes into the R (restricted) rating. A film's single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, shall initially require the Rating Board to issue that film at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive must lead the Rating Board to issue a film an R rating, as must even one of these words used in a sexual context. These films can be rated less severely, however, if by a special vote, the Rating Board feels that a lesser rating would more responsibly reflect the opinion of American parents. PG-13 places larger responsibilities on parents for their children's moviegoing. The voluntary rating system is not a surrogate parent, nor should it be. It cannot, and should not, insert itself in family decisions that only parents can, and should, make. Its purpose is to give prescreening advance informational warnings, so that parents can form their own judgments. PG-13 is designed to make these parental decisions easier for films

R:"Restricted, Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent Or Adult Guardian."
In the opinion of the Rating Board, this film definitely contains some adult material. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about this film before they allow their children to accompany them. An R-rated film may include hard language, or tough violence, or nudity within sensual scenes, or drug abuse or other elements, or a combination of some of the above, so that parents are counseled, in advance, to take this advisory rating very seriously. Parents must find out more about an R-rated movie before they allow their teenagers to view it.

NC-17:"No One 17 And Under Admitted."
This rating declares that the Rating Board believes that this is a film that most parents will consider patently too adult for their youngsters under 17. No children will be admitted. NC-17 does not necessarily mean "obscene or pornographic" in the oft-accepted or legal meaning of those words. The Board does not and cannot mark films with those words. These are legal terms and for courts to decide. The reasons for the application of an NC-17 rating can be violence or sex or aberrational behavior or drug abuse or any other elements which, when present, most parents would consider too strong and therefore off-limits for viewing by their children.

But why I still see some children watching R rated movies?

I notice that when we watch American Gangster couple of weeks ago, the movie Rated R for violence, pervasive drug content and language, nudity and sexuality.

Other occasion happened when Sam and Will watch Rambo 4 last Saturday, according to this site that movie rated R for strong graphic bloody violence, sexual assaults, grisly images and language.

I wonder how come a parents can allow that kind of thing?

Do they want their children to be exposed with bad things since the early age?

I myself have to prevent from violences happen during the movie, and how come the parents let children to watch it?

I believe that's not wise thing to do. If the parents are not familiar with this rated things at least they could do some researches and references about the movie before they take their children to watch it.

We are the adult responsible for children mental development, how can we expect our future children to be good persons if we introduced them with negative and bad thing since their early age?

I really want to talk to the parents at that time, but I'm afraid they will be offended if I talk to them, I feel helpless.

If next time I see parents take their children to watch R rated movie, should I talk to them or should I just leave it?

I just wish I could save the children.

I'm sick

I can't blog today, confirmed the flu has kicked in.

I got bad headache.

Sneeze a lot.

Fever.

Must be because of the weather, one time hot sunny day in the morning and then rain pour in the afternoon till evening and night. Or maybe because I pushed my self to go to the gym everyday? Could be. The body already in bad stamina + hard work out, so it's like a sign from my body to slow down. Or maybe it's just a lame excuse for me to skip exercise today, maybe :)

Took vitamin C, and cold medicine after lunch. In result I'm sleepy now zzzzzzzz......

I'll try to go home early today. Let's hope the traffic jam wouldn't be soo bad cos Jakarta's traffic jam on Friday night and especially after rain poured is hell.

Have a great weekend everybody.

Touch down

I'm going to pick up my baby at the airport tonight... his flight will arrive at 12.05 am yaayyy... Uhm I better bring book and iPod then, otherwise I'll fall asleep while waiting for him.

I'm soo excited to meet him after his long holiday to Surabaya - Bali - KL - Bangkok - Singapore. Well some of you might ask why he went on holiday without me? Down side of working as advertising slave, especially if I'm the only one in the team I couldn't take long holiday until my team complete *sigh*

But I've told my MD that I will take long holiday in June, no matter what :)

Too much...

I definitely had too much caffeine today.

I usually drink coffee in the morning, just 1 glass of tall non fat flat white and I good to go.

But today is an exception, I slept at 3am cos I completely forgot about time when I watch Brothers & Sisters.

Try to keep me awake by taking 1 cup of coffee before lunch and then took another 1 tall flat white after lunch. In return my heart beat fast now like I'm in a race-pace endurance and feels like I want to move around the office.

I think I better go to the gym tonight, otherwise I couldn't sleep and I probably get anxiety attack.

Too much of something is definitely no good.

Does anyone know what should I do to get the caffeine out of my system?

Inner beauty vs physical beauty

A good friend of mine showed her before and after photos last night, she lost 16 kg or 35 pounds. Her previous weight is about 80 kg or 176 pounds. Amazing isn’t it? She committed to do exercise with personal trainer and also strict low carb diet and even no food at all after exercise.

Well, I’m not going to discuss about her amazing result but what I find it interesting is when she said that she didn’t get much attention from men when she still big. And now, she proudly says that she enjoys the attentions given from the opposite sex. Her last relationship was in 1997, yeah it’s quite some times ago but now she has a boyfriend, newly relationship. Is it because she has normal weight now? Only God knows.

And how normal is normal?

Can anybody define what is normal weight?

There will be so much answer for above questions, but one thing for sure for me normal weight is when someone looks good neither over weight nor under weight. Just proportionally normal.

When you meet someone for the first time, you will acknowledge their physical beauty first and then after you talk to him/her for quite some times you will acknowledge their inner beauty, their personality, their wit and etc.
You won’t acknowledge inner beauty just with look at the person; need effort and further process to finally be able to acknowledge it.
You come approach them and talk to them because you like their physical beauty.

Ok, you might not agree with me on this case because some of you might say that inner beauty is the real beauty, just like this article says. But… if you ask people around, I bet they will say the same thing.

The first trigger will be physical beauty.

Prince chooses Cinderella when he spotted her with beautiful dress and make up nicely not with her kitchen uniform. Wonder if the Prince will even asks her dance if Cinderella’s wearing her apron.

Same thing happen with woman, we will acknowledge men’s physical beauty just like this Carlson twins.. (picture right side -->) Oh my my… they look yum, look at those abs and chests ladies… yum :)

So I would say, physical beauty is important. That is the reality, the fact.

But…

Is it enough, with only physical beauty? It's very subjective.

It depends on each individual though.

Will I choose Carlson's Twins (what, I should choose, can’t have both of them? That sucks) or one of them to be my boyfriend or to be my husband just because they look incredibly hot?

No.

I wouldn’t choose drop dead gorgeous man but treats me badly, doesn’t care about my feeling and even cheats on me.

If I choose one of the Carlson twins *drooling*, that must be because of the whole package.

True, beauty opens locked doors. Many people look for external beauty, and they forget about feelings. But in the end, when the beauty is over, the same doors will be closed.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But other elements accompanying beauty is equally important.

Three Simple Rules: Set the Right Expectations to Find Mr./Ms. Right

Sunday, February 03, 2008

I'd like to share this to all of you, found this from dating site, hope you'll find what you're looking for :)

Wouldn't it be great if fairy tales came true? Most of us still want and expect to find our Mr. or Ms. Right. The good news is, finding a partner who is perfect for you is a real-life possibility -- and something you can turn into a probability by resetting your expectations. Remembering three simple rules will help you understand the person you are dating, manage your expectations and prevent ugly surprises.

1. Everything you want to know about a person is there for you to see right from the beginning. By being observant, You can realize someone's true nature from the very start. Let's say the person you are dating throws their jacket on the chair when they come into your apartment. As much as that may annoy you, you must understand that is who they are. They are not going to become a neat freak later on. As a matter of fact, the more relaxed they grow to be, the more likely they are to take liberty in throwing their clothes around -- expect to find scattered socks, shoes, even underwear!

2. You cannot change anybody. Try as you might, you can't change anyone. You can, of course, let the person know you are unhappy with the sloppiness, but you cannot expect him or her to change. What you can change is your reaction to their behavior. By seeing someone for who they are and understanding that you cannot change them, you can recognize early on if someone is an appropriate match.

3. There is an "upside" and a "downside" to every trait. You may realize that even though your Mr. Right is a slob, it doesn't mean that you must cast off your otherwise Prince Charming as a toad. Think about the other side to your potential partner's sloppiness. Maybe his carefree attitude towards the proper place of a coat is indicative of his flexible and relaxed nature -- perhaps a trait that is a nice counterbalance to your tendency to get a bit uptight.

Good luck folk.
